"The uniqueness of Stella Luce by comparison to other acts is exactly what draws you in and makes you hooked on them; there’s not another Northern Colorado act like them and “Caldera” is the perfect addition to the fall new music lineup. This is one to hear and truly an act to watch." - Silas Rowe Scene Magazine review of Caldera (all the stars!)
"Resurrection comes out of the gate slithering with Snake—stealthily yet aggressive, driven by intense strings and Alana Rolfe’s sultry voice." - Emily Clingman Scene Magazine review of Resurrection
"The band has become masterful at making the varying sounds and influences work together and compliment each other, creating a cohesive, dynamic sound uniquely their own." - Josh Johnson Reverb Steal this Track
"The blend of the enchanting viola with the strong beat of the bass in drums creates a somewhat magical sound. Combined with Rolfe’s enchanting voice, Stella Luce feels like music fallen out of a dark fairy tale...Stella Luce uses a classic vintage feel that results in a timeless effect. The passionate sound is easy to get lost in; the Saturday night crowd was incredibly engrossed in the music." - Hannah Lintner Music Buzz Magazine
"Rolfe's forceful chops and nervy conviction do more than conjure flickering images of gypsy campfires and pagan rites; they bring them home." - Jason Heller Westword Music review of Entropy
"The band's violin-based pop bears a broad range of influences, from lounge to Eastern Bloc to indie shoegaze. Eclectic yet satisfyingly consistent,Zugenruhe, Stella Luce's debut long-player, is well-rooted and hook-based." - Jeff Otte Westword Music review of Zugunruhe
"They take rich, haunting violin chords, the powerful magic of Alana's lead voice, throw in a musical saw (that produces a beautiful weeping sound), a bass and drums; from that description alone, if you are not excited about this music you're made of stone! You listen closely and you may imagine ancient love stories, or modern fairy mischief... or maybe you simply feel the passion of the artists filtered loud and strong through their song. This is my new obsession; I hope you enjoy it as much as I have." - Erika Iverson Insider Sessions
